Expanded Polystyrene (EPS)

Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) is a lightweight cellular plastic material widely used in building, construction, infrastructure, packaging, and industrial applications. EPS is also commonly known as polystyrene foam, styrofoam, thermocol sheets, and expanded polystyrene sheets (EPS styrofoam sheets). EPS is produced in different forms including polystyrene boards, sheets, blocks, and custom-shaped elements, allowing it to be adapted to a wide range of technical requirements.

In hot climates such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, Oman, and Kuwait, EPS is extensively used as an insulation and lightweight fill material to reduce heat transfer, improve indoor comfort, and support energy-efficient building design. EPS provides a cost-effective solution with stable long-term performance and can be manufactured in multiple densities, thicknesses, and dimensions according to project needs.

EPS is manufactured by expanding polystyrene beads using steam, then molding them into blocks which are cut into boards or shaped into custom elements. This process creates a closed-cell structure that provides consistent thermal performance, dimensional stability, and durability. EPS does not rot, does not support mold growth, and maintains its physical and thermal properties throughout the service life of the building when properly protected.

EPS products can be supplied as flat insulation boards, large geofoam blocks, slab infill blocks, void formers, or custom EPS shapes, making EPS a versatile material suitable for building, infrastructure, industrial, and packaging applications.
