XPS Extruded Polystyrene
Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) is a rigid closed-cell thermal insulation material widely used in building and construction applications where high thermal performance, moisture resistance, and mechanical strength are required. XPS insulation is particularly suitable for applications exposed to moisture, high loads, and harsh environmental conditions such as roofs, floors, foundations, and below-grade insulation systems.
XPS is manufactured by an extrusion process in which polystyrene resin is melted and combined with additives, then continuously extruded to form rigid boards with a uniform closed-cell structure. This manufacturing process results in consistent density, stable thermal performance, very low water absorption, and high compressive strength.
In hot climates such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, Oman, and Kuwait, XPS insulation helps reduce heat gain, improve indoor comfort, and support energy-efficient building design.
